Post-production for me involved visits to Stan in the editing suite, coffee in hand and feedback in mind. Will and I would make sure to watch the film at different times so that we could both offer fresh new opinions in the earlier stages, with me taking a step back whilst Will and Stan fleshed it out.
My biggest task in post-production alongside continuing to manage the social media side of things was the credits. I like to view the credits as part of the film meaning the average black screen and white writing doesn't always fit, in this case, I took the polaroids that I had taken on set which created a clear vision from the film, to the poster and socials.
I created this test to send to Stan and Will to work out any little nicks within text positioning or sizes before sending over the final chroma key backed png's.
Overall I think after the final film was finished I'm of two minds about the credits. The visuals of them seemed to fit with the initials visuals but after we learnt about the passing of Gary and added in the intertitle explaining this and the in Memorium slide I'm not entirely sure if they fit, the bright blue of the sky coupled with the colours of the polaroids and text (which turned out more vibrant than intended when edited in) don't entirely match the tone of the ending. However, I'm so proud of the film as a whole, it was definitely a passion project for Stan, Will and I. It was a big step away from my normal design roles but was a pleasant relief when my other films were stressing me out to be able to come back to review Clipped Wings and everything to be reasonably smooth sailing.
